Forture cookie fortune of the day
"A messenger will soon bring good tidings."
I hope by "messenger" it means my recruiter and by "good tidings" I hope it means an offer letter.

Zune can't be gone zune enough
"Yes, Microsoft's new Zune digital music player is just plain dreadful. I've spent a week setting this thing up and using it, and the overall experience is about as pleasant as having an airbag deploy in your face."
The social aspect of the device was interesting to me. I suppose if the device were popular and ubiquitous enough (like the ipod), it would allow you to discover strangers that shared your taste in music. It would be an interesting dating tool.

Parent-Teacher Conference -- Vindicated!
The teacher agreed with almost every thing I've said about raising an 8 year old.
1) They should be able to wake up on their own in the morning with an alarm clock.
2) They should be able to pick their own clothes and dress themselves.
3) They should have more chores and responsibilities.
4) They should be allowed to use their own judgement and make mistakes.
5) They should suffer consequences for their actions. I have said this a million times, "She acts out because there are no consequences to her actions."
6) They should be reading more books instead of playing.
7) They should not have to be told to clean their rooms.
8) There needs to be a consistency in message between parents.

How soon before your drive-through order is handled in India?
When Jairo Moncada pulled up to the drive-through at Wendy's in Burbank, Calif., for his usual cheeseburger, fries, and soda, he knew things looked different. There was an extra lane. But the 25-year-old could not see the biggest change: The woman taking his lunch order was sitting 3,000 miles away at a computer terminal in Nashua.

Our ancestors are cute and like to swim.
The recently captured dolphin developed an extra set of flippers from these limbs that are about the size of human hands.

Circumcision appears to reduce STD risk
Circumcised males are less likely than their uncircumcised peers to acquire a sexually transmitted infection, the findings of a 25-year study suggest. Circumcision may reduce the risk of acquiring and spreading such infections by up to 50 percent, which suggests "substantial benefits" for routine neonatal circumcision.

Why would anyone?
Why would some claim to be going out to shop for groceries with a friend and then proceed to get dressed up in nice clothes. Why would said person then return home at a God-awfully late time, with no groceries, no less. This is not the first time. All the while, I am at home, I can not sleep, I have to work the next day (said person does not have to work the next day) and I can not leave the house because I am baby sitting said person's child. Why?
Google growing larger than Microsoft?
Some prediction state that at the current rate, Google will have a market cap larger than Microsoft within about 4 years. I say that based on the "Economy of Attention", Google have already crossed the "tipping point" and WILL be larger than Microsoft. Check-out why.

Drugs my dad is taking
Apparently my father had a stroke and didn't realize it was a stroke and then decided to go to see the doctor a few weeks after the fact. His major symptoms were numbness and pain in his right arm (or was it the left arm).
He's currently taking indoethacin, atenolol and aspirin.
