Geez, is it really that easy to get laid?

iTunes: Guy and girl plunk down laptops in cafe. Girl connects to guy's iTunes. Guy changes iTunes library name to "Hey, are you that cute girl with the Dell?" She changes hers to "Yeah, you the boy with the giant smoothie?" "Yep. Try the Apples In Stereo. Good band." "Hey, you're pretty cute yourself. Got an extra seat at that table?" Guy gets laid.

Oil changed today

The wagon got an oil change today. They tried to scare me into changing my brakes right then and there. The front rotors, pads and sensors need to be replaced. I have all the parts. I'm taking tomorrow off to take care of it all. I did this at Big-O tire.

Next oil change at 95,000 miles.

The RowSet is the new ResultSet

One of the problems with working with a ResultSet is that you can't pass it around from class to class across a network or across the Internet. A ResultSet maintains a connection to a database and because of that it can't be serialized. There are many situations where it would be a nice feature to be able to pass a ResultSet from one Java class to another across a network.

I guess we do need a replacement for Fortran

"For some types of workloads, the computer industry has done a pretty good job. Google is a parallel programming problem," Illuminata analyst Gordon Haff said. "Some workloads scale very well. A lot do not, however. Extracting parallelism from those workloads is a very long-standing computer science problem. Progress has been made, but it's a long way from being solved."
