Soderbergh does a DVD-theater release combo
"...the persistent buzz around its release has less to do with the film's artistic merits than with the fact that it will be broadcast on the high-definition network HDNet the night of its full theatrical release, Jan. 27, and also made available on DVD just four days later."

JavaScript + CSS = Nice Picture Display
Nice piece of JavaScript and CSS to display a picture in response to a click on a thumbnail. More attractive than just popping up a window or loading the picture raw in the browser. Instead the whole page is shaded down and the image is loaded in the center of the page.

Torrent Search Engine Searcher Gets A Makeover
A digg favorite in the past, the Torrent Search Engine Searcher (very nice redundant name) has received a very large makeover. It searches Bit Torrent, BT Junkie, ISO Hunt, Mininova, and The Pirate Bay just to name a few. Worth a spot in the bookmarks bar for sure.

the little brown trucks go, one by one,

their destination unknown, their purpose all the same:
make our world a smaller place
connect us to one and other

great day, no drowsiness
for the first time in weeks (days perhaps, my memory is not so good), i haven't gotten the bobily head sleepiness that i usually get after lunch.
here's what i ate:
some apples in the morning
one banana
one bowl of leftover risotto
one pack of soft tofu
one small pack of nori
and a lot of water
magic.

dinner at robert and kei's
this was near a window by the dinning table. john and i were waiting for dinner to be ready. kei and robert were in the kitchen making tempura.
we rented a movie after dinner: Closer.
i fell asleep and slept through most of it.

things i did today (that i care to share)
woke up.
fed Bowie.
let Disco go into the yard to go pee and poo.
accidentally let Bowie eat all the jerky treats.
got a scoop of food for Disco.
vacuumed the house.
steamed the carpets.
started a load of white laundry.
emptied trash cans.
took down all the halloween decorations in the backyard.
put away an old mirror that was sitting on the picnic table.

If you're in the mood for breakfast in the Aliso Viejo/Laguna Niguel area. This is definitely the place to go. There is not big sign so it is easy to miss. It's tucked away on the far end of a small strip mall that includes the independent pet supply store where I buy dog food for Bowie.
Most breakfast dishes come with a side of country potatoes, which are actually semi-mashed potatoes that are fried on one side. Mmm.. yum.
The main drawback: The place was crowded as heck. The clientele appeared to be mainly comprised of loud and inconsiderate white people.

same place, different time, same purpose.
john and i often got to samy's camera to look at the latest camera stuff. we rarely ever buy anything there.
on this occassion we didn't see our friend ted. he's the short asian gentleman that looks frustrated that we make him pull ever sort of camera off the wall with no intention of buying. "it's a good camera; a good price."

just because you want something and wish with all your might doesn't usually mean you'll get it. i think this especially applies to wishing other people behave or feel a certain way that you would like them to. most people want to stay the way they are. most people aren't interested in seeing the world through different eyes.

oh my. i haven't written for almost a week. i saw a good friend that i haven't seen in a while on saturday. he graduated with a phd, is getting married and is expecting a child. a lot of things can happen during any lapse of contact. i do believe that everyone goes through similar stages in life. i'm trying to convince myself that these stages are not milestones of accomplishments (much like distance markers in a race) but are instead more similar to traits or characteristics of a person. everyone is different and thats supposed to be a good thing.
